World Book and Copyright day in Georgia
April 23 - World Book and Copyright Day!
On the 23rd of April from 11:00 to 19:00 on Rustaveli Avenue in front of the National Palace and in the inner courtyard Georgian Publishers and Booksellers Association will be celebrating the World Book and Copyright day in Georgia.
One-day book fair will be arranged on the Avenue and about 20 Georgian publishers and distributors will offer books to the readers with a special discount. Special events will be held during the day in the inner courtyard of the National Palace: meetings with different contemporary Georgian authors, presentations of the newest titles and activities related to books, education and copyright.
For over 16 years by the initiative of Georgian Publishers and Booksellers Association celebrating World Book and Copyright day under the Global umbrella of UNESCO with different cultural events has become an annual tradition in Georgia.
Since 2003 according to the order of the President of Georgia, 23rd of April has been declared as the Professional Day of Book Sector Workers'.
